Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sacked the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Shehu Wada Sagagi, with immediate effect.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
According to the statement, Sagagi has been directed to hand over the affairs of the ministry to the Director of Commerce pending further directives from the government.
Governor Yusuf, however, commended the former commissioner for his contributions during his tenure, particularly in political engagement, religious affairs, and the development of small and medium enterprises in the state.
He wished Sagagi well in his future endeavours and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to efficient service delivery and good governance.
The statement noted that the removal forms part of an ongoing strategic realignment of government structures aimed at promoting systematic growth and sustainable development in Kano State.
Sagagi’s removal marks the second time he has been dismissed from Yusuf’s cabinet, having earlier been relieved of his position as Chief of Staff in December 2024.
